Dr Melissa Clarke
Dr Melissa Clarke (BPhty, MBBS (Hons I), FRACP) graduated with first class honours from the University of Queensland in 2008. She completed specialist training at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Cairns Hospital, and Mater Hospital Brisbane. Dr Clarke has worked as a general physician at Sunshine Coast University Hospital and an endocrinologist at Mater Hospital Brisbane.
Dr Clarke has worked as a general physician at Sunshine Coast University Hospital and an endocrinologist at Mater Hospital Brisbane. Dr Clarke has always been passionate about health care, having been a physiotherapist prior to her career in medicine.
Dr Clarke has broad experience in general medical problems and all areas of adult endocrinology. Her special interests include diabetes (including insulin pump therapy, diabetes in pregnancy, and high risk foot care), thyroid and parathyroid conditions (including thyroid cancer), and osteoporosis.
Dr Clarke enjoys teaching and research. She won a Royal Brisbane Clinical School Recognition of Outstanding Teaching Award and has been an Associate Senior Lecturer with the UQ Clinical School of Medicine. Dr Clarke has also published articles in peer reviewed journals and is currently undertaking research on thyroid cancer.
Having grown up in north Brisbane and now raising her young family in the area, Dr Clarke is dedicated to providing compassionate, up-to-date, patient-centred care for the local community. However, Dr Clarke is also keen to provide care to patients living further afield via Telehealth (video consultations) when appropriate.
Dr Kin Keung Kwong
Dr Kwong is a well-trained respiratory and general physician from
Hong Kong. He immigrated to Australia in May 2017 and
worked in Port Macquarie (NSW) and Darwin (NT) before he came
He has strong expertise in managing difficult chronic airway diseases (including asthma, COPD and bronchiectasis), performing bronchoscopic and pleural procedures for lung cancer.
Furthermore, he is also capable of treating patients with Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILDs), common and complex sleep disorders.
His substantial experience in general medicine has enabled him to look after patients with complicated medical background well.
Dr Kwong is now fully accredited as a Respiratory and General physician at The Wesley Hospital and St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside for both in-patient and out-patient care. In terms of language, he can speak Cantonese, Mandarin and English fluently.
What is a General Physician?
General Physicians care for difficult, serious or unusual medical problems and will generally see the patiane continuouslly until the medical problem has been resolved.
They have a broad range of skills when compared to other medical specialists who focus on one area in the medical field.
