Our Endocrinologist Specialists in North Lakes
The endocrine system is a system of glands in the human body which secrete hormones into the circulatory system to regulate the function of different organs. Two of the body’s major glands are the thyroid and adrenal glands. The other glands in the human body include the pituitary and pineal gland in the brain, the pancreas, the ovaries and the testes.
The hypothalamus acts as the neural control centre for the hormone-secreting glands. These hormones consist of amino acid complexes, eicosanoids, leukotrienes, prostaglandins and steroids.
When you have a hormonal imbalance, the imbalance can affect your digestion, respiration, metabolism, growth and development, sleep, mood and other functions of the body. If you feel that your problem may be caused by a problem with your endocrine system, you can consult directly with an endocrinologist or simply see your regular doctor who may refer you to an endocrinologist for treatment.
